9 Ways to Keep Your Skin Looking Youthful

Taking care of your skin is crucial if you want to continue looking youthful no matter how old you are. Aging is a natural process and it is enviable to avoid it. However, you can do these things to help keep your skin from aging as much as possible. Use the 9 ways to keep your skin looking youthful no matter how old you are.

Always wear SPF 30 or more sunscreen every day. You don’t have to buy fancy sunscreen in order to get results. Any sunscreen will do. There are a wide variety of beauty products that have even included sunscreen. If you suffer from acne, you should find a sunscreen that is suitable because you don’t want it clogging up your pores or irritating your face.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking water helps keep your skin retain moisture. As we age, our skin doesn’t retain moisture like it did when we were younger. You should be drinking at least eight 8oz glasses of water each day. If you struggle with drinking your daily requirement, try adding lemon, lime, or other fruits and vegetables to help flavor your water.

Use a Facial Moisturizer

Do use a facial moisturizer twice a day. Make sure that you are using a moisturizer that is especially made for your face. Heavy lotions can clog your pores and leave you prone to break outs. A light facial moisturizer will help keep your face retain moisture.

Wash You Face Using a Gentle Cleaner

Always use a gentle facial cleaner. Using a soap that isn’t made especially for your face tends to dry it out and strip your face of oils.

Blemish Control

During your twenties it is common for you to have acne problems and as you begin to age, you may need to shift your acne medications. Using acne products can dry out the skin and leave you prone to even more problems.

Use Retinol Products

Begin using products that contain retinol in your late to upper twenties. Retinal helps fight the aging process and it even can’t help fight acne blemishes. Always follow the instructions on the product for best results.

Vitamin C Serum

Start using a vitamin C serum on your face to help fight inflammation. Plus, it help minimize your pores, heal acne scares, and reduce redness.

Consider Botox

Botox should begin during your late twenties or early thirties, if you plan on getting on going treatment for your skin. The treatments are designed to help minimize wrinkles and fine lines. Use Botox as a preventative measure. Make sure that you thoroughly research Botox before you start since the long term effects haven’t been established yet.

Don’t Be Afraid to See a Dermatologist

A dermatologist is a specialist who can help you with any skin problems or blemishes. Your dermatologist can tailor a plan that is designed for you and your skin condition. Most dermatologists can use light therapy, Botox, or other skin procedures to help keep your skin looking as youthful as possible.

Pay for Quality Beauty Products

Make sure that you are purchasing quality beauty products. Cheap beauty products can cause clogged pores and cause acne problems.

Exfoliate Your Skin

Do exfoliate your skin on a regular basis. You can use a homemade sugar scrub that has coconut oil (has natural antibiotic and anti-fungal properties) or use a facial brush. Exfoliating your skin helps remove dead skin cells which helps prevent clogged pores.

Use A Facial Peel

Facial peels can help restore moisture to your face, reduce wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, sun damage, and reduce blotchy patches. Plus, it also helps give your skin a more youthful appearance.
